SourceTierMethodFetched (ET)
Vermont Secretary of State — Election Night Results (static JSON feed behind electionresults.vermont.gov, 2026 General Election, federal offices) Official Results feed Nov. 5, 9:25 a.m.

Summed district votes match the state’s own published totals.

Notes on Vermont

  • UNOFFICIAL results (isOfficial=false) from the Vermont SOS election-night JSON feed; feed file timestamp 2026-11-05 09:01 ET (election config 68d61e96-....json points to the -f-20261105090106 federal file; the earlier 08:51 file had identical House numbers), towns reporting 247 OF 247. Not certified.
  • Votes are the feed's 'STATE WIDE' row for Representative to Congress. The script verified that the 283 town/district rows sum exactly to that row for every candidate and for write-ins, and that the totals match the SOS RSS election-summary.xml.
  • Write-ins = 258: 'OTHER WRITE-IN' 206 plus 52 votes for individually named write-in candidates. Blank votes (6246) and overvotes (594) are excluded.
  • pctReporting is null: the source gives towns reporting (100%, 247 of 247), not a share of expected vote.
  • Candidate names are kept in the source's upper case. Independent candidates (PHOENIX K. ALTAIR, ADAM ORTIZ, SUZANNE "SUZ" SEYMOUR, RYAN P. WALTON) are coded I.
  • Race call: NBC News Vermont House results page lists Becca Balint (D) as winner (read 2026-11-05).
  • Independent verification 2026-11-05 ~14:25Z: re-fetched the current federal file (-f-20261105090106) and the earlier -f-20261105085103 file; STATE WIDE row and 283 town/district-row sums match the stored values exactly for all six candidates and write-ins (258). The 258 includes 206 OTHER WRITE-IN, 3 'BLANK WRITE INS' and 1 write-in vote cast for ballot candidate Gerald Malloy, all as tallied by the SOS. Ballots: 311,429 = candidate votes + 6,246 blank + 594 over.
