Notes on Texas
- Votes are unofficial election-night/canvass-period counts from the Texas SOS results system (Civix 'goelect' ENR). Data were read from the JSON feed behind the results page: https://goelect.txelections.civixapps.com/api-ivis-system/api/s3/enr/election/53815 (base64-encoded 'Federal' section, data version enr/53815/117/).
- Source 'LastUpdatedTime' at fetch: Nov 04, 2026 22:48:37 (Texas time). Statewide reporting at fetch: counties 254/254, polling locations 5303/5303. The source gives no per-district percent of expected vote, so pctReporting is null; late provisional/mail ballots may still be added before canvass.
- District-level totals were cross-checked against the feed's OfficeSummary section; all 38 districts match exactly.
- Districts are the new mid-decade (2025) congressional map used for the first time in 2026; district numbers are not comparable to 2024 lines.
- Incumbent flags follow the source's '(I)' marker, which the SOS attaches to sitting members of Congress regardless of which district they previously represented, with two corrections where the SOS ballot omits the marker: Greg Casar (TX-37; sitting member for the old TX-35) and Christian Menefee (TX-18; sworn in Feb 2, 2026 after winning the TX-18 special election runoff) are flagged as incumbents.
- Party codes: DEM->D, REP->R, LIB->L, GRE->G, IND->I; declared write-in candidates (source party 'W', TX-27 and TX-33) are recorded as party O with '(write-in)' appended.
- Race calls: all 38 races were projected by the AP as shown on Fox News's 2026 House results page, https://www.foxnews.com/elections/2026/midterm-results/house (calls only; no vote counts taken from news outlets). Every projected winner matches the vote leader in the SOS data.
