Notes on New York
- Source: NYS Board of Elections unofficial election-night results (nyenr.elections.ny.gov), U.S. Congress, all districts, page last updated 11/04/2026 10:22:01 PM ET. Collected 2026-11-05 by loading the page in a browser (the site is behind a Cloudflare browser check that blocks command-line fetches) and copying the results table text; the captured text was verified byte-for-byte against the page with a SHA-256 hash.
- Fusion voting: each candidate's votes are the sum of all party lines (e.g. DEM + WOR credited to D; REP + CON, REP + Queens United, REP + Taxpayer Rights credited to R). Line-level counts are in partyLines. Candidates running only on a minor party's line are coded O (NY-15 Gonzalo Duran, Conservative; NY-15 Andre Easton, Socialism PSL). Candidates running only on an independent-body petition line are coded I as independents (NY-07 Priscilla Ghaznavi, 'Our Future'; NY-12 Wilneida Negron, 'For All of Us'; NY-12 Karen Ortiz, 'Karen Ortiz'; NY-15 Jose Vega, 'Speak The Truth').
- Blank and void ballots are shown by the state but excluded here; for every district, candidate votes + blank + void equals the state's 'Total Votes' exactly.
- Write-ins are reported by the state only in aggregate and are recorded as one 'Write-ins' entry per district.
- The state warns that these results 'do not include a significant number of unscanned emergency Election Day ballots from Westchester County'. NY-16 (34 of 670 election districts reporting) and NY-17 (409 of 679) are heavily affected; their totals will rise substantially.
- pctReporting is null: the source reports election districts (precincts) reporting, not % of expected vote. Election districts reporting by seat: NY-01 560/561; NY-02 521/527; NY-03 548/571; NY-04 537/587; NY-05 386/386; NY-06 338/338; NY-07 393/393; NY-08 393/393; NY-09 376/376; NY-10 417/417; NY-11 377/377; NY-12 410/410; NY-13 383/383; NY-14 362/362; NY-15 323/323; NY-16 34/670; NY-17 409/679; NY-18 581/581; NY-19 653/654; NY-20 575/575; NY-21 573/573; NY-22 685/685; NY-23 568/606; NY-24 596/597; NY-25 673/673; NY-26 508/528.
- Race calls come from NBC News Decision Desk projections as shown on nbcnews.com on 2026-11-05 (vote counts were NOT taken from NBC). NY-01, NY-02 and NY-21 were not projected by NBC or (per news reports found) the AP; the leading Republicans declared victory but the Democrats had not conceded.
- NY-17: Rep. Mike Lawler (R) conceded to Cait Conley (D) on election night (ABC7 New York, Spectrum News), but no outlet projection was found, so the seat is left 'uncalled' pending a projection.
- Incumbency flags follow NBC News candidate metadata.
- Verification 2026-11-05T14:20Z: every candidate and party-line count in all 26 districts was re-read from nyenr.elections.ny.gov (still 'last updated 11/04/2026 10:22:01 PM') and matched exactly; NBC News still shows NY-01, NY-02, NY-17 and NY-21 as not projected.
- NY-01: CNN projected the R winner by 2026-11-05T17:35:47Z; the Polymarket-odds call was replaced with CNN's projection.
- NY-02: CNN projected the R winner by 2026-11-05T17:35:47Z; the Polymarket-odds call was replaced with CNN's projection.
- NY-17: CNN projected the D winner by 2026-11-05T17:35:47Z; the Polymarket-odds call was replaced with CNN's projection.
