Notes on Kentucky

  • SECONDARY DATA. The official KY State Board of Elections live results site (vrsws.sos.ky.gov/liveresults) returned an 'Acceptable Use Policy' bot-block page (HTTP 403) to the collector, and the SBE publishes no other 2026 general-election file; the block was not circumvented. Jefferson County Clerk results were also blocked (403).
  • Vote counts were copied from the Wikipedia per-state page's general-election result boxes, which carry no citation for the vote figures. They were corroborated against search-engine snapshots of the official SBE live results page (vrsws.sos.ky.gov/liveresults?id=2): exact matches for every major-party candidate in all six districts and for Loecken (KY-2), Todd (KY-4) and Bowman/Lynch (KY-6). One snapshot showed McGarvey at 174,775 rather than 174,781, so the page may be one refresh behind or ahead of the official count. Mikel Wein and Gerardo Serrano (KY-5) were not independently corroborated.
  • Wikipedia's stated district totals do not equal its candidate sums in KY-4 (+15), KY-5 (+6) and KY-6 (+208), possibly unlisted write-ins. Only listed candidate votes are recorded here; no write-in line was added.
  • Ballotpedia was checked but not used: its KY results cite NYT/Decision Desk HQ (licensed sources), and its KY-1 figures were a stale partial snapshot (101,954 total votes).
  • pctReporting unknown (null). Party: 'Kentucky Party' candidate Pete Lynch recorded as O; independents as I.
  • All six races are AP calls (re-verified 2026-11-05 ~14:15Z). KY-4: incumbent Thomas Massie lost the May primary to Gallrein. KY-6 is open (Andy Barr ran for Senate) and flipped to Democrat Dembo.
  • Corroboration (2026-11-05 ~14:15Z): the AP tabulation (about 99% of votes counted) matches every recorded candidate figure exactly in all six districts, including Wein and Serrano (KY-5). The AP figures were used only for this check and are not the data source, so the tier stays secondary. Wikipedia's KY-4/5/6 figures were entered on election night (about 11:30 p.m. ET Nov 3) and have not been edited since, but they still equal the AP's Nov 5 figures. The official SBE site still returned a 403 bot-block, and elect.ky.gov lists no 2026 general-election results.
